Gordon Louis Dalton

Gordon passed away on April 26, 2017 after 91 wonderful years of life. He was a proud 35-year member of the RCMP stationed in Manitoba, Ottawa, Victoria and Kamloops retiring in 1978 as Chief Superintendent. During his service he was a member of the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association and won the Bisley tournament. He was also on the Musical Ride at the time of the Queen's Coronation in 1953 and was proud to have been on numerous security teams when she and the Royal Family visited Canada. After leaving the RCMP, Gordon spent several years with the BC Police Commission. Once he finally retired, he and Helen spent many very happy years taking cruises and wintering in Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Helen (McSorley), daughters Janet (Ed), Nancy (Al), Kelli (Don), grandchildren Jared (Sarah), Erin (Bruce), Quinn, Adele, Christine, Katya, Natasha and great-grandchildren Dawson and Ben. At his request, there will be no formal service but rather a private family gathering. Online condolences to the family may be made at: www.woodlawnfh-abbotsford.com
