Gloria Jean SPENST

November 12, 2005

Gloria Jean Spenst passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord at the age of 60, in the early morning hours of November 12, 2005, at home, surrounded by her loving family who will dearly miss her.

Gloria was born in Kincaid, SK on December 21, 1944 and is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Vic Spenst; mother Clara Waddell; sisters Russella Klassen, Lynn Hatch, Loretta Ford; brother Bob Waddell; 4 sons Daryl, Dave, Darren, Dan, their wives; and 10 grandchildren who will never forget the beautiful creation given in their mother and will continue the legacy of love and compassion which was so evident to all those who knew Gloria. Throughout her life as a homemaker and homecare worker, Gloria was a source of constant encouragement and joy to all those who met her, being evidenced by the countless friends she amassed. Her zest for life, easy laughter and quick wit was contagious and each day was met with enthusiasm and courage even as she battled the cancer that would eventually claim her life but could never dim her spirit. Gloria’s many interests included cooking, reading, calligraphy, ceramics, painting, poetry, entertaining, and singing.

A life and home that was open to all will be celebrated November 19, 2005 at 2:30 pm at the Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford. Viewing will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd., on November 18, 2005 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to all the caregivers who were absolutely tremendous throughout this difficult time.
