Germaine POLLOCK

January 1, 2006

1935 – 2006

Suddenly and peacefully January 1, 2006 at MSA Hospital. Loving wife, mother and friend Germaine has joined her beloved husband Victor in the afterlife. Germaine was born May 2, 1935 in St. Eleuthere Quebec. As an adult, Germaine left St. Eleuthere and moved to Montreal to pursue her career. In 1963 she met Victor, a handsome young Englishman who couldn’t speak French. Speaking no English herself, Germaine and Victor spent time together learning how to communicate with each other. As their communication grew, so did their love for each other. Their love story led to a 41 year marriage. As a person, Germaine will be best remembered for her determination and strength of character. Nicknamed “MacGyver” by her family, Germaine always found a way of helping people with a practical solution. Caring deeply about people, Germaine re-entered the workforce as a home support worker after raising her son. Germaine enjoyed her work and used her wonderful sense of humour and determination to help elderly people cope with their failing health.

Survived by her son Robert (Francine), brother Roger (Flo), and sisters Irene and Helene, she will be deeply missed.

Funeral mass will be held Friday, January 6 at 10:30 am at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church 33333 Mayfair Abbotsford (604) 852-5602. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Germaine’s honour be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
