George Strating peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord on January 4, 2004 at the age of 73 at MSA Hospital, Abbotsford, B.C. He was born on February 9, 1930 in Bandoeng, Indonesia. He is survived by Tina, his wife of 50 years, sons John, Jeff (Kim), tim, and 4 grandchildren, Jesse, Heather, Tyler, and Melissa. He will also be missed by his brother, Ben Strating and numerous friends.
George immigrated from Holland with his parents and brother in 1951. George was involved in the trucking business for over 50 years. He had a great love for jazz, classical, and praise and worship music. George had a great sense of humour and loved his family and grandchildren.
A celebration of George's life will be held on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at New Life Christian Reformed Church, 35270 Delair Road, Abbotsford.
