McLATCHY, FREDA

June 12, 1926 ~ November 25, 2008

Freda was born in Bashaw, Alberta, to Wilhem and Clara Trefz. She was third child of seven children. Freda was raised on a farm.

In 1945, Freda and her first husband Ed Stenerson, moved to Mission, BC. Originally to Shaw Road and then they moved to Keystone property. Freda worked for awhile doing gardening, picking crops and laboring on a flower farm in Hatzic. However, her most important job was raising her five children.

Freda married her second husband, Ed McLatchy, in 1959. Ed and Freda built their own house on Freda's father's original property on Keystone Road from wood grown and milled on the property.

Freda was actively involved in the Silverhill Community. This included the repairs and maintenance on the Silverhill Hall and its designation as a heritage building.

Freda was especially loyal to her birthday club and the ladies included in it.

Freda's love in life, besides her family, were taking trips with Ed, touring, camping with friends and playing at casinos in the states.

There was a good glass of wine that Freda would enjoy with family and friends. Her flowers and her pets were also a great part of her life.

Freda's family includes her children Sandra (Robert), Stanley (Sheena), Ken (Tracey), Andrew (Jillian) and Robert (Kim) as well as her eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
