In Loving Memory
Frances Louise Vodermayer
January 5, 1941 - June 29, 2009
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother/grandmother/friend. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she moved to Vancouver shortly after her birth with her family. Her brother, Daniel Richard, unfortunately, succumbed to illness in his early years and so did her mother, Frances Fowler. Mom was raised by her Grandmother and Grandfather Grindrod. When she was sixteen, Mom ventured out on her own and worked for several years at The Cave in Vancouver, where she saw such greats as Louie Armstrong and Rita Hayworth. In 1958, she got married and moved to Aldergrove and had two children. Mom moved to Mt. Lehman in 1968 and had two more children. In the early eighties, she moved to Abbotsford where she decided to attend school to be a Nurse's Aide. Mom was very proud of her career as a Nurse's Aide and loved working with the elderly. Mom is survived by four children: Cindy (Len - grandchildren: Christiana, Diana, and Michael); Walter (Cindy); Teena (grandchild Dominic); and Richard (Tara - grandchildren: Marshall and Cody). The family would like to thank the ARH ICU staff for their support during this difficult time. Nurses Corina and Sandi were a shining example of the excellent staff working in ICU. As well, we would like to thank Dr. Kris Todorov and his staff for their years of supporting Mom. A Celebration of Life will be held at the ABC Restaurant Banquet Room, Marshall Road, on August 8, 2009 between 2 - 5 p.m.
