Florence Wood Erskine (Flo)

Flo died in Mission BC in her 97th year. She was born in Port Alberni, BC where she married Tom in 1939. With their 3 boys they moved to Tahsis, BC in 1951 and eventually settled in Mission in 1954. She worked for many years at Glenn's Pharmacy. Flo was very involved in the community as a member of the Women's Hospital and All Saints Auxiliaries and played with the Royal Canadian Legion Pipe Band. As a pianist from the age of 3 she entertained countless individuals and organizations well into her 90's. With an energetic zest for life she lived it fully with a flair that was hard to miss. She was well known about town as the "Hug Lady". Predeceased by her husband Tom, sons Monty and Nicholas. Survived by her son Terry (Lynn) of North Saanich BC, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also missed by Brian Appleby of Mission. A Celebration of Life will be held at All Saints Anglican Church in Mission on July 5th at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mission Healthcare Auxiliary Society, 7324 Hurd St., Mission, BC. V2V 3H5 or charity of choice.
