"Well done, good and faithful servant."

II Timothy 4:7

Born on July 18th, 1925, Eric Richard Friesen, in his 80th year, passed away peacefully at the MSA Hospital on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 just before 4:00 in the morning. We are so thankful for the many extra years that we have enjoyed with him in spite of all his medical issues over the last 30 plus years.

He was born in Tiefengrund, SK, the third son of Richard and Emma Friesen. At the age of 5 he moved with his family to Carrot River where he spent his youth and got his schooling, until grades 11 and 12, which he finished at Rosthern Junior College. Christmas 1947 he moved to BC, where he met and then married Helena Driediger on November 8, 1952. They just celebrated their 52nd anniversary. They lived in Bradner, where they raised their 6 children., until 1985. Then they moved to Clearbrook. He has had a variety of jobs and occupations from road construction to sales, including his last employment at Peacock’s Furniture just before he took early retirement in 1984, so he could have time to enjoy his growing family. Besides family and church, he also enjoyed woodwork, walking and gardening.

Dad was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Max in 2001 and Alfred in 2002 (both of Fort St. John). He is survived by his beloved wife and sweetheart Helena; daughter Eileen (Al) Neufeld and their 4 daughters Tania (Andrew) Jackson with Emily and Sarah of Yemen, Denise (Dave) Friesen with an expected child, Christina and Alicia; son Rick (Sandy) and their 4 sons Richard of Grand Forks, BC, Ryan (Joanne) with Joshua and Adam of Chilliwack, Kevin (Julie) and Karl; son Robert (Tere) and their daughters Rachel and Renee; daughter Carla of Winnipeg, MB; daughter Rietta (Wes) Friesen and their children Michael, Benjamin and Molly; and son Perry (Dawna) and their sons Derek and Shawn of Regina, SK.
