Our beautiful Wife, Mom and Grandma passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on May 8, 2007, at the age of 82. Edie, a long time resident of Abbotsford, BC, is survived by her beloved husband and best friend Jack Entwistle and her dear sisters Edna Haverstock and Nora Mitchell. She is also survived by her children Jim and Mickie Beaton, Kristine and Randy Schwartz, John and Grace Beaton, Janet Garrard, and Phil and Janet Entwistle: her grandchildren Kim and Dave, Shelby and Ryan, Stacie and Kevin, Michael and Julie, Alia and Don, Steve, Sharon and Edd, Warren, Ryan, Kate and Lucy. Very special to Edie were her great grandchildren, Jessica, Carly, Topher and Samara. Edie will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who have all been touched by her life. She is predeceased by her parents, Julius and Christina Martin; her brothers, sisters Dorothy and Ella, husband Jack Beaton and her son Bradley Beaton.

The youngest of 10 children, Edie was born in New Sarepta, Alberta and raised in Richmond, BC. A wonderful and talented cook, Edie owned a restaurant in New Westminster and in Chilliwack before retiring in 1972 to become a full-time Grandma. Edie was gifted creatively and enjoyed decorating as well as music, dancing, and singing. Edie also loved to travel and meet new people. Her friendly and outgoing nature made her a person who others found easy to talk to and genuinely loved. She greeted all with the warmest of hugs.

Edie was a member of the Sevenoaks Alliance Church in Abbotsford. She loved to study the Bible and she enjoyed Christian fellowship. Her love for Jesus was the foundation of her life and she will be remembered for sharing that love with everyone she met. We will surely miss her captivating smile, the sound of her laughter and great sense of humour Edie was truly devoted to her husband and family and will continue to be the heart of the family. She lived every day of her life with joy.

As it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him. ”
