Born in Kelowna, BC. Shelley obtained her BA (U.Vic), Masters (Boston's Emerson College), taught 2 years at OUC (Kelowna), before receiving a full fellowship to the U. of Louisiana (Lafayette).
April 17, 2007 Shelley was Âecstatic to officially be "Dr. Martin" after many years of hard work. We were all so proud of her. May 3, 2007 at 9:30 pm God had a better destination for Shelley and warmly welcomed her to Heaven when an impaired driver ended her life instantly in Baton Rouge. Shelley's loved ones will attend her May 19th convocation to accept her diploma, attend her memorial there, and see a perpetual scholarship awarded in her name by the university. A Unitarian service will be held in Victoria's Gateway Baptist Church May 26 at 2:00 pm.
This beautiful, bright, caring angel will be greatly missed by her loving and devastated mother Michele of Abbotsford, father Terry (Sylvia) and brother Jeff of Victoria, and many, many others who loved her.
