Doreen DERKACH

January 12, 2006

Doreen passed away in her sleep in the morning hours of January 12, 2006. Born in England on November 23, 1927, she came to Canada as an English War Bride. Doreen was known to many through the years by her work for the NDP office in Abbotsford, Peer Counseling and the War Brides Club.

She was predeceased by her husband Alex in 1999. She is survived by her daughters Denise Whyte and friend Karl, Cheryl Robbins (Gary); her grand­children Derrick, Adam, Tyler, Blaine (Annie), Shay Marie (Chris), and Travis (Tina); her great grandchildren Courtney, Hilary, Taylor, Tyler and Nathan; her nieces and nephews Margaret, Norma, Stephen and Kim and her special friend A.J. Carter and his daughters. She will be truly missed by all her chatline friends. No words can ever describe how much she was loved by all who knew her and how much she will be missed. Mother there will always be a hole in our hearts for you. You were always there for us. “Till we meet again”.

Interment will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday January 18, 2006 at the Gardens of Gethsemani, 32nd Avenue, Surrey, BC. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.
