Donald Robert (Bob)

Feb. 8, 1938 - Feb. 19, 2007

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bob Auten on February 19, 2007.

Bob will be remembered in the hearts of his loving wife of over 45 years, Gail (Buck); daughters Tracy (Roy) and Sandra; grandchildren Blair, Brittney, Kaitlyn, Reid, Rob, Shari and Shannon; great-grandchild Liam; brother Darryl (Jeryl), sister Sharron (Vic), brothers-in-law Brian (Millie), Wayne (Priscilla); and daughter-in-law Claire as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Barry, parents Wesley and Ruth, son Laune and Cocker Spaniel DeeDee.

Bob was born in Edmonton in 1938. In his teen years he aspired to the NHL but had to change his plans after a brush with polio, so learned to be content as a lifelong fan of his hometown teams the Oilers and Eskimos.

Bob began his career with Woodwards in 1960. He and Gail relocated their family to BC in 1972 where he continued his work at Woodwards until 1990. He loved animals, having many faithful pets. After retiring, he spent his days in the yard with Gail, organizing his tool shed, solving crossword puzzles, and most importantly to him, "bonding" with his grandkids.

Bob made lasting friendships in many places and everyone will miss his quick wit and friendly nature.

The family would like to thank all involved at MSA Hospital for their kindness. A special "thank you" to Dr. Barry Turchen for the care and compassion he has shown to Bob over the past several years.

At Bob's request, no formal service will be held at this time, rather a celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

Your presence we miss,

Your memory we treasure

Loving you always,

Forgetting you never
