It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Diana Balback (nee Zink) at the age of 87. She left us on Friday, February 27 to be welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Di was predeceased by her first husband David Smith in 1983, daughter Debbie in 1961, daughter Dale in 2010 and son David in 2011. A warm, loving and remarkable wife, mother and grandmother, Di will be lovingly remembered by her husband Harold of 28 years, daughter Marilyn Stevens (Ted), daughter-in-law Darlene Smith, son Don Smith (Diana), daughter Donna Keats (Herman), stepsons Harvey Balback (Hilda) and Mark Balback (Cammy), and stepdaughter Julia Howell (Rick) and many heartbroken grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Di’s unconditional acceptance of all, warm smile, and concern for others will also be missed by many relatives from here to Saskatchewan, friends, her church family at Trinity Lutheran in Abbotsford, and her friends and the staff members at her Cedarbrooke residence in Mission. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 14th at 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Abbotsford with all welcome to celebrate Di’s full and inspirational life.
