Derek was born on April 10, 1928 in Derby, England, and passed away peacefully in Langley Hospice. Derek will be sadly missed by his wife of 46 years, Ray; son Mark (Monica); daughter, Karen (Bruce); grandchildren, Spencer and Savannah; sister Margaret (Peter); nieces Rachel (Kevin) and Claire; sister-in-law Lynn and nephew Ian. Predeceased by his brother Keith.
Derek settled in Canada in 1968 after many years traveling and working in England, Africa and New Zealand. Those who knew Derek enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor and his love of a great debate.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 11:00 am at St. Mathew’s Anglican Church, 2010 Guilford Drive.
The family would like to thank the Langley Hospice for their care of Derek and support of the family. In lieu of flower, donations to Doctors Without Borders or the Langley Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
