Del Salter, passed away peacefully on February 10th, 2006, at the age of 74. He was born on January 16th, 1932, in Wallace, Ontario. He is survived by his wife Betty, sons Gord (Sonya), David, Mel (Sheila), daughter Lana (Raymond) Brodeur, daughter-in-law Susan and 11 grandchildren. Also survived by daughter Bev Spence, son Malcolm and 5 grandchildren, all of Ontario, 2 sisters Muriel Salter of North Vancouver, and Helen (Cecil) Beggs of Embro, Ontario, 2 brothers Glen (Marilyn) of London, ON, and Clayton (Kathy) of Listowel, ON. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Orville and Ken. Del moved to BC at the age of 17. He worked in logging camps and on the construction of the Fraser Canyon Hwy, Rogers’s Pass, Mica Dam and many years as a truck driver in the Lower Mainland. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 18th, 2006 at 1:30 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Rd. (at Sumas), Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Del. Thank-you to the awesome staff at the Menno Hospital, for their care and kindness during his stay.
