David William Siemens was born March 24, 1911 in Nikopol, Russia, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom he loved and served at the age of 94 years, on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the Ebenezer Home.
He impacted all who knew him and carried on valiantly alone for 2-1/2 years after the death of his beloved wife Elizabeth of 56 years. He lived his life with grace and dignity and was blessed with a remarkable memory to the very end. David lived a wonderful long life. Living on a dairy farm David was no stranger to hard work. His family meant everything to him and he worked hard to achieve the dreams he had for himself and his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was giving and thoughtful and was a gentle and patient man. In his retirement years he and his wife Elizabeth enjoyed traveling to Arizona together to escape the cold winter months. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. But what was of most importance to him was spending time with his Lord and Savior through Bible study and prayer.
David will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Sandy Krause and son-in-law Peter; grandchildren Joanne (Matt) Cole, Michael Krause, Brittany Krause and great-grandchildren Kaleb, Belle and Emma Cole.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Ebenezer Home. Thanks so much for the love and care you gave David over the past 2 years. Sincere appreciation also goes to Dr. Ken Dick and the many friends and family members who have been a support.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 from 7-9 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 12:30 pm from South Poplar Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at South Abbotsford MB Church, 32424 Huntingdon Rd. If friends so desire, donations may be made to MCC in David’s memory.
