David Neil HARTT

David Neil Hartt passed into the presence of the Lord on January 8, 2005. He was born in Silverdale, Washington on February 25, 1919. He was the first of seven children born to David and Jenny Hartt. He grew up in several of the western states of the United States.

David graduated from Prairie Bible Institute in 1941. Soon after he applied to be a missionary with the West Indies Mission now known as World Team. He met his wife Erma Anhorn Hartt at Prairie Bible Institute. David was predeceased by Erma in August 2003.

David pioneered the mission’s work in Cuba, Guadeloupe and in Haiti. He spent most of his missionary career in the radio ministry of Radio Lumiere in Haiti until 1986 when he retired officially from World Team and settled in the Abbotsford area.

David is survived by his six sons: Paul Hartt of Bellevue, Washington, Samuel Hart of Kent, Washington, Joe Hartt of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, Daniel Hartt of Boulder, Colorado, Jonathan Hartt of Pomona, California, and Nathan Hartt of Placerville, California; a sister Charlotte Hartt Griffith of Racine, Wisconsin, brothers Richard Hartt of Pasadena, California, and Bradford Hartt of Renton, Washington; nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial service for David Hartt will be held at Central Heights Church, 1661 McCallum Road, Abbotsford on Thursday, January 13, at 2:00 pm.

Memorials may be made out to World Team, Inc. for the ministry of Radio Lumiere in Haiti. All gifts will be sent to the continuing ministry of this radio ministry in which David invested most of his time and energy.
