David was born a true Vancouver boy, born on March 21, 1937 to Murray and Lorraine McElhoes. David had a great work ethic. He was a born salesman and excelled in most everything he tried.
In 1956 he married Lavina (Vi) and in 1960 they became born again Christians. Within 8 years, he was sent out to Glad Tidings in Gibsons to pastor a small church with 4 kids in tow.
In 1971, they moved to Abbotsford to pastor Glad Tidings (which became Abbotsford Christian Assembly and is now called Hillcity Church.) At the age of 67 (41 yrs later) he relinquished his role as lead pastor but continued in many areas of church ministry both local and abroad.
Dave's life was full of God and His word and that is how he lived his life. He was called home on November 2, with his wife and children at his bedside. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him and leaves behind his four children, Teressa Palitti (Dom), Jordie McElhoes (Joyce), Deborah Suderman (David), and Lori Kowalchuk (Don), 11 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.
The family will be sharing a Memorial Video on Sunday, November 22 at 3 pm.
