Daniel Thomas (Don)
March 12, 1921 - Feb. 22, 2005
Dan was born March 12, 1921 in St. Catherines, Ontario where he spent his childhood years. At the young age of 18 (January 11, 1940) he volunteered for the armed forces and spent his 19th birthday overseas where he met his wife (Irene) of 60 years. He was discharged from the army August 15, 1945. Dan returned to the air force in 1947 and was on peacekeeping duties throughout Europe. He left the air force in 1958 and became a firefighter for the Ministry of Transportation at Vancouver International Airport until 1969 when he transferred to Abbotsford Airport as firechief until he retired 22 years later.
Dan was predeceased by his son Darren Joseph (Joey) and great granddaughter Katelyn.
Dan will be deeply missed by his wife Irene, sons Don, Wayne and Tony and daughter Dianne. He had eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
