Cynthia (Cindy) Lee Dieno

Cindy passed away May 21, 2017 after a brief illness, at the age of 58. Her unexpected death was a shock to everyone and we all agree that this beautiful soul was taken from us far too soon. Born in Vancouver, Cindy obtained a Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from Western Washington University, as well as a TESOL Certificate from Trinity Western University. After working as a Speech/Language Pathologist for the Castlegar and Cranbrook School Districts, she moved to the Abbotsford School District where she was happily employed for many years. She also loved teaching adults from all over the world at the New Directions English Language School. An exceptionally kind and caring person with a genuine interest in others, Cindy was a great favourite of everyone she worked with, including her students, their parents, and her co-workers. Wherever she went, so many of her colleagues turned into cherished, life-long friends. Outside of work, she enjoyed travelling, attending movies and plays, playing golf, reading, and taking long walks along Crescent Beach. Cindy was predeceased by her beloved parents Art and Edith. She is deeply mourned by her siblings Dave and Dianne, her nephews Sean and Ryan, her niece Gillian, and her wide circle of friends. The family would like to thank the incredible team of doctors and nurses who cared for Cindy at the ICU in Abbotsford General Hospital. A Celebration of Cindy’s Life will be held at the South Bonson Community Center in Pitt Meadows on Sunday, June 4th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
