Colin MacKenzie was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on December 30, 1944 and passed away suddenly on December 29, 2017 in Abbotsford, B.C.
Colin immigrated with his family to Canada in 1952 and resided in Burnaby. He graduated with a B.A. from SFU in 1968 with majors in Sociology and Political Science. His work with Corrections began in 1969 as a Probation Officer for B.C. Corrections, then National Parole Service in Vancouver and Abbotsford before moving to CSC Matsqui as Unit Manager in 1983 and then Coordinator Case Management until retiring in 1997.
Colin was predeceased by his father Frank and his brother Alan.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, his mother Betty, sons Hugh and Stuart, grandchildren Dakota, Dallas, Justin, Aris, Mila; stepchildren Trisha and Ray Wolfs, and step-grandchildren Mackenzie, Kya, Danae; sister-in-law, Valerie and extended family.
Colin loved his family, golf, curling, travelling and watching all sports.
A celebration of life will be held at Abbotsford Eagles, 33868 Essendene Avenue on January 31 at 2:30 p.m.
