Christine Elsie Erickson of Abbotsford, BC died on Sept. 30, 2016 at the Abbotsford Hospital. Her death was expected and came as a blessing to many of the family after years of declining physical and mental health with Alzheimer’s. She passed peacefully and quietly with dignity and love. Christine Erickson was born Oct. 22, 1929 in the small Village of Winnipegosis, Manitoba to Martha and Gunnar Erickson. She spent her childhood there with her other siblings before heading to BC about 1946, living in the Victoria and Vancouver area. She married and gave birth to five beloved children who survive her: Richard, Ronald, Sandra, Sindy and Johnna. She was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her second husband of over 50 loving, caring and supportive years, Jorgen Albek survives her. The Celebration of Life of Christine Erickson will be held at 5:30 pm on Oct. 15, 2016 at Saint Andrews United Church Hall at 9025 Glover Road, Langley. All family and friends are invited to honor her life. Those who cannot attend, can send their blessings and well wishes to the family. Christine’s final resting place is the Valley View Cemetery in Surrey, BC. Christine Erickson asked little of life, happy with her family and friends around her. However she gave greatly to life and all who knew her loved her. Her soul was fiery and fierce at times yet was tempered by the kindness and the love of a mother. More than anything in her heart and to all who knew her she was a loving Mother and a Homemaker. Her family will dearly miss her. Though there is pain now at her loss this pain will come to be our remembrance of our love. May her soul be at peace.
