Captain Robert (Ted) Edward SHEPHERD

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband and father, Captain Robert (Ted) Edward Shepherd, of Keremeos, BC, on February 9, 2007. Ted was born August 27, 1927, and was predeceased by his parents William and Gladys Shepherd, sister Dorothy and brother Bill. He will be sadly missed by his wife Betty, his sons, Randy, of Surrey, BC, Ronald and Robert, of Coquitlam, BC, his daughter, Roxan (Timo Kujala) Shepherd of Rock Creek, BC, and extended family Joanne (Byron) Brock of Roberts Creek, BC, Wendy (Dwight) Posnikoff of Robson, BC, Kurtis (Julie) Johnson of Bonnyville, Alberta and his loving sister, Doreen (Earl) Phelps of Mission BC. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Lentina Kujala, Sarah and Devin Shepherd, Jessica and Michael Brock, Michael and Jenny Poznikoff, and many nieces and nephews. Ted was born in Chilliwack but spent his early years in Saskatchewan before the family settled to Mission, BC. His career in the towboat industry started with Harbour Towing and some 40 years later he retired as a Captain with Rivtow. His retirement years were kept busy with traveling and camping in his RV and by watching endless games of hockey, especially his favorite team the Canucks.

We would like to sincerely thank the many friends and neighbors who gave us so much support and friendship. A special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Similkameen Diagnostic Centre who provided such excellent care.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Similkameen Christian Fellowship Church in Keremeos, BC with Rev. Don Bodden officiating. A reception tea will be served after the service. In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Ted Shepherd can be made to the Lower Similkameen Community Services Society at P.O. Box 368 Keremeos, B.
