Betty Louise Wilson

March 25, 1942 - July 14, 2017

It is with great sadness we mark the passing of Betty Lou Wilson (Newman) at Vancouver General Hospital on July 14, 2017. Third child and first daughter of Henry and Marion Newman of Greendale, Chilliwack. She leaves behind Ed, her loving husband of 52 years; sons Michael (Jennifer) and Matt (Jenn); and grandchildren Cole, Elina, Sam and Abby. The light and love of her siblings, she is deeply missed by Dick (Bonnie), Ed (Grace), Lynda (Don -deceased), Sandra (Barry), Pat and Dianne (Brad). Betty Lou lived the music of life and leaves a legacy of song and love she shared with all. Her musical talent and beautiful voice were a special part of any occasion. Her calm and quiet perseverance in dealing with life continues to be an inspiration to those who knew her. Her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends were all touched by her kindness and generosity. The loss is eased by the many treasured memories we share. "Betz" and Ed both worked at radio stations and met at CHWK, Chilliwack in 1964. Together they volunteered with the Harrison Lake Powerboat Assoc., Oleanna Singers, and the Lonely Guitar co ee house in Popkum. Through the years, in moves to Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond, and Abbotsford, Betty Lou did some fantastic cooking, while maintaining an o ce career. She also served as an award-winning executive with both the B.C. Lacrosse Association and Lower Mainland Minor Lacrosse Commission.
