Benjamin John WALL

Benjamin John Wall, late of Abbotsford, passed away in his 85th year on June 15th, 2007 at the Langley Hospice with family and close friends at his side. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nettie; sons, Jim of Kamloops, Ben (Cheryl) of Abbotsford, Ed (Kathy) of Rocky Mountain House, AB, and Tim (Doreen) of Chilliwack; his brother John (Anne), sisters Elsie and Olga (Glen); nine grandchildren, and one great-grandson, as well as extended family members and many friends. He was predeceased by his son, John, in 2003.

Ben was born on May 8th, 1923, in Main Centre, Saskatchewan, and moved with his family to Abbotsford, BC, in 1941. In 1948 he married his honey (Nettie) and began farming chickens and cattle on LeFeuvre Rd. In 1978, he and Nettie moved to McKenzie Rd. where they operated a successful raspberry farm. During this time, Ben served as a director of the Abbotsford Growers Co-op. He retired from farming in 1987.

Throughout his adult life Ben was very involved with church ministries and community services. He loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, camping, and playing games.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 20th, 2007, from 7-9 pm at Prairie Chapel, 1929 Inter-Provincial Hwy, Abbotsford, and interment will take place on Thursday, June 21st at 10:30 am at Maclure Road Cemetery, Abbotsford. A celebration of life service followed by a reception will be held Thursday, June 21st, at 1:00 pm at West Abbotsford Church, 31216 King Road, Abbotsford.
