Barbara HAFFNER

November 15, 2004

It is with a sorrowful heart but a peaceful mind that we announce the passing of Barbara Haffner on Monday, November 15, 2004. Barbara had been battling a two year fight with cancer at her home by her family’s side. Born on October 22, 1950 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, "Barbie" as us kids called her, was adopted into the Wilcox family. Seeking opportunity in the West, the family settled in 100 Mile House, B.C. Although she never had the things as a child that most of us take for granted, Barbie shined brightly with a great heart and sparkling personality. It was at the age of 14 that she met and fell in love with Ronnie, her soulmate for eternity. They moved to the Fraser Valley where they started a family that would result in three children, Jennifer, Dustin, and David. To understand Barbie is to understand the meaning of love and happiness. Everyone who met Barbie felt her contagious energy and this is one of the things that we will miss most. Mom, we will look after dad, remember, we love you so much and have learned from you what it means to be a kind, gentle soul. We are so grateful that we were all able to spend the last days of your life together. Mom we will always love you, always miss you, always remember you, and always live life the way you showed us.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 19, 10:30 am at South Abbotsford Mennonite Church, 32424 Huntingdon Rd., Abbotsford.
