Antonio (Tony) Reis BETTENCOURT

May 5, 2005

Antonio (Tony) Reis Bettencourt was born May 16, 1935. On May 5, 2005 at 4:43 a.m. as the last train whistle blew, Tony slipped away and went home to heaven to be wrapped in the arms of the Lord at Mission Memorial Hospital at the age of 69 years. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Aldora; daughters Dina Restiaux and Sandra Kieler (Kevin); son-in-law Ken Restiaux; his greatest joys, grandson Zachary Restiaux and granddaughter Antonia Kieler; numerous nieces and nephews.

Tony worked for the CPR for 33 years, retiring in 1993. He was a well known member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. He loved to work outdoors, especially in the yard and garden. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 32550 — 7th Avenue, Mission, BC with a Rite of Christian Burial to be held on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. Father Gary Gordon officiating. Interment to follow at Hatzic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice although Tony would have appreciated any donation made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada. The family would like to extend their deepest and heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Blackwood for his dedicated care of Tony these past 28 years and especially his compassion to the family as Tony’s time drew near. Thank you also to the staff at Mission Oaks Medical and the Lab and X-ray departments of Mission Hospital for always being flexible to Tony’s needs and accommodating him at any time. He always enjoyed his bantering with each one of you. Each smile and kind word always made his day.
