Antoinette Elizabeth Waddell

(van Velzen)

Our mother, Annette (Net to others) was an original woman's libber, always pragmatic and the ultimate optimist. Mum passed away on May 25 at 92 years of age after silently battling medical challenges for several years.

Mum was born in Agassiz and raised in Mission where she met Don, her husband of 60 years. They lived in Kamloops for 33 years, raised a family and were involved in school and civic activities. In 1974 they retired to Abbotsford. Mum's passions were knitting and world travel as well as enjoying cooking, gardening, doing word games and using the computer. She is predeceased by her husband and survived by her four children: Andrea (Tony) Bosch, Rodger, Chris (Rick) Beauchamp, Steve (Rob); grandchildren Jill, Andrew, Leah, Regan, Haley and Gina; great-grandchildren Liv and Beau and sister Catherine (Kit) Houseman.

Thanks to staff at Hallmark, ACE unit at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Dr. D. Henderson, sister Kit and friend Gladys. Mum left us with inspiration and wonderful memories. No service by request. Donations in Mum's memory may be made to the Canadian Institute of the Blind, 5055 Joyce Street, Vancouver, V5R 6B2; the Canadian Diabetes Association, 1400- 522 University Avenue, Toronto, ON M5G 2R5 or a charity of your choice.
