Anne Boschman

Anne Boschman (Janzen) was born to Abram and Helen anzen on April 26, 1926 in Elm Creek, MB. She grew up on a farm in Elm Creek and was the middle child with 8 siblings. Anne was described as a caring and outgoing child. She accepted the Lord at age 12 and was baptized at age 19. Anne spent many hours working on the family farm. She loved playing baseball, reading and going to school. From her early years she knew she wanted to be a teacher. After graduating from high school, and taking a brief teachers training course she began teaching in a country school. Over time she attended the University of Manitoba, graduating with B.A and B. Ed degrees. After teaching for 38 1/2 years in Yarrow, Coaldale and Winnipeg she retired in 1986. Her summers were spent upgrading her education, being a camp counsellor at Camp Arnes and also in Christian service in Ecuador and Japan. Her love of travel took her to Europe, South America, and many parts of Canada and the USA. Anne married Rudy Boschman on February 14, 1987 in Winnipeg Manitoba. They lived in Abbotsford, BC and attended Central Heights Church where both were very involved in service. Rudy and Anne were asked to serve in Austria and spent 15 months there, building friendships and impacting many people through their ministry and hospitality. They spent winters in Mesa, AZ from 1992-1997 where Rudy volunteered as co-pastor in Good Life park and Anne loved and encouraged those they shared life with. Once Rudy’s health no longer allowed for travel, Anne became a loving and faithful caregiver until his passing in October 2012. She continued to serve in leadership of the ‘Open Door Fellowship’. She also enjoyed mentoring, visitation and was involved in numerous Bible Studies and Prayer meetings. She loved her three years at Primrose, sharing Jesus and life with residents there. When Anne’s health made it evident she needed full care, she was moved first to hospice care at Holmberg House and later to Menno Hospital where she continued to be a light, comfort and peace to those around her. Anne passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM. We celebrate with her, a life of service to her Lord and Saviour and look forward to being reunited with her once again in Heaven. She leaves to remember her brothers: Alfred (Dorothy); Abe (Aggie); Jack (Hilda); Henry (Clara), brother-in-law Ernie, sisters Mary & Magdalene and many nieces and nephews and their families, stepchildren and their families: Ed & Carol Boschman, Merv & Carol Boschman, Rick & Vange Falk, Ron & Viv Johnstone. Special thanks to the staff at Holmberg House and Menno Hospital for their loving care this past year. Memorial service will be held at Central Heights Church, Abbotsford on Saturday July 29th at 10:30 AM. Online condolences to the family may be made at: www.woodlawnfh-abbotsford.com
