Amita Louisa

(Mom, Nan, & Nannie-Lou)

Amita Louisa passed away suddenly at MSA Hospital on May 22, 2005 in her 85th year. Louise was born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland on April 27, 1920 to Leah and Moses Anthony. She married William George Way on November 15, 1947 and they had 3 children and were blessed with 3 grandchildren. They moved to British Columbia October 28, 1973.

She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and gave of herself unconditionally. She loved life, enjoyed singing and had been an active member of local theatre. She enjoyed all the times she spent with family and friends, especially Christmas, Birthdays, Easter, Mother’s Day and family vacations. She had a great sense of humour and she had a big heart. She was a great cook. Her lemon pies, datenut loaves, raisin tea buns, Christmas cakes, and roast chicken dinners will be missed. Leah will especially miss Nan’s chicken stuffing made with Newfoundland savoury. Matthew and Trudy-Bridgette will miss the way she made toast!

She was predeceased by her husband "Bill", parents, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters. She will be greatly missed by her 3 children: Sharon (Reg) Smith of Abbotsford, Marilyn Thomas of Abbotsford, and Warren (Carol) Way of Coquitlam; 3 grandchildren, Leah (Corey) Olson, Matthew Way, and Trudy-Bridgette Smith; sister, Breta & Brother-in-Law, Patrick Anstey of Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Brother-in-Law, Allan Way of Abbotsford, Brother-in-Law, David Peters of St. John’s Newfoundland, Sister-in-Law, Jean Way of Calgary, Alberta; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
