Alfrieda Grace Peters

December 16, 1936 - September 10, 2017

Alfrieda Grace Peters passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on September 10, 2017 surrounded by her beloved family.

She was born in Rabbit Lake Saskatchewan on December 16, 1936 to Abram and Eleanor Loewen. They moved to the Fraser Valley when she was almost a year old and it was there that 9 other siblings joined the family.

As the oldest of 10 she had many responsibilities, farm work being one of the main ones. It was in the Matsqui community, where most of her growing up years were spent, that she met Frank Peters and on November 9, 1956, after a brief courtship, they were married.€

She quickly became a busy Mom to 4 sons and a daughter. Her days were full of meal preparation, laundry, gardening and canning but in between she always found time to express her creativity. As the kids grew her hardworking spirit led her to volunteer her time in areas other than the home.

Her creative passion for quilting led her eventually to the MCC where she spent 20 plus years faithfully serving.

It was, however, the time spent with her family and dear friends that was her greatest joy.

€Left with many memories and her amazing legacy are: her husband Frank of nearly 61 years; her sons, Charlie (Connie), Len (Tami), Clifford, Les and daughter Cheryl (Mark) Siemens, 11 grandchildren, 5 of whom are married, 12 great grandchildren, 8 siblings, many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

She is predeceased by her sister Arlene Haak and her parents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC.€

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 11 am at Northview Community Church located at 32040 Downes Rd in Abbotsford, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Turning Point for God of Canada" PO Box 70509 RPO Oak St., Vancouver BC V6M 0A3 (one of her favourite radio Bible programs) or to the website www.davidjeremiah.ca€

Her family would like to express their deepest thanks to her doctors and nurses for their compassionate care shown to her and the family during her illness.
