Aldia KAMPF

March 23, 2010

KAMPF, Aldia Genevieve (nee Juelfs)

June 4, 1915 - March 23, 2010

With great sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Aldia Kampf on March 23rd of her 94th year. Born into modest circumstances in Kantenville, Saskatchewan, she was married at a young age to her beloved Jack in 1934.

After starting a family in the farming community of Rockglen, Saskatchewan, hard times led to the difficult decision to move to Abbotsford to start a new life in 1949. With Jack's new career at Henderson's Funeral Homes, the family flourished in their new community. In later years, Aldia and Jack spent winters in Indio, California, always returning home to Abbotsford. To a remarkable extent Aldia continued to enjoy travelling, card-playing, mah jong, socializing and whatever new adventure she could manage. Always on the go, it was often impossible to catch her at home, even in her last days. Aldia's caring, strength and optimism will never be forgotten. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, family, friends, and faith. Predeceased by her husband Jack in 1999, she is survived by her children: Trudy (Wally) Ehman, Helen (Dick) Sleep, Lorne (Violet) Kampf and Rick (Colleen) Kampf. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, March 30, at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Ave, Abbotsford, BC. Burial to follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, 34070 Hazelwood Ave, Abbotsford, BC.
