December 14, 2009

BEITEL, Albert Zacharias

With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother and friend at Abbotsford MSA Hospital on Monday, December 14, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Predeceased in 2004 by Theresa, his loving wife and partner for 60 years , he is survived by his children Albert (Pat), Lorraine, Larry (Toni), Richard (Vickie), Terry (Wenche) and Gail (Richard); brothers Ed, Kasper, and Martin and sisters Millie, Hilda and Mary; 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many friends. Albert was born and raised in Spring Valley, Saskatchewan, the 6th of 13 children. He and his new wife moved to the Okanagan where they raised their 6 children on their 10 acre farm. They moved to North Delta in 1968 where Albert worked for the Corporation of Delta Water Works until his retirement. They spent their remaining years in Langley and Abbotsford. Albert was known as a hard worker-helpful, steadfast, reliable, strong and caring. He loved his children and especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. He loved building and fixing things, making knickknacks, growing vegetables, helping in the kitchen, and helping build and repair anything that needed doing. Church was an important part of his life and he was always an active participant in his parish. Prayers will be offered at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at St. Ann's Catholic Parish. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2009 at St. Ann's Church, 33333 Mayfair Ave., Abbotsford, B.C., Father Nicholas celebrant. If desired, memorial donations in Albert's memory to BC Children's Hospital or Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated. "Your values will guide

us forever, Dad."
