It is with deep sadness that we wish to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on December 29, 2017 after a brief illness. Mom was born to parents Elias and Aganetha Bergen in Schoenhorst, Ukraine.
She immigrated to Canada in 1948 with her husband, Jacob Harder and they began a new life In Chilliwack, B.C.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, Jake, her son Alfred, her parents, one sister and one brother along with brothers-in-law and sisters-ln-law and a niece.
She leaves to mourn, her daughter Erika (Rudy) Unrau, a granddaughter Nancy (Gord) Sauer, 2 great granddaughters, Tiana and Kyla, and her grandson Brian (Emily) Unrau as well as 2 sisters Frieda (Ed) Pankratz and Mary Baerg as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church, 2051 Windsor St, Abbotsford at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society are gratefully accepted.
