PETERS, Abraham
May 8, 1918 - March 18, 2009
Born in Osler, Saskatchewan Abe passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord at Valhaven Care Home, Abbotsford. Abe was predeceased by his wife Frieda in 2004.
During his 90 years, Abe worked very hard as a millwright in several BC sawmills and as "jack-of-all-trades" in his spare time. In retirement Abe & Frieda loved to travel. Abe volunteered many hours to his church, Meals on Wheels, and on the Strata Council of Landeau Place. His faith kept him strong through all his years.
Abe was a loving brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and is survived by sisters, Helen Froese, Margaret Leopky and Eva Battaglini. He will be sorely missed by his children, Alita (John), Jeanne, Fred (Sherril), Elsie (Gord), Glen (Anita) and Jim. Grandchildren, Rachel (Aaron), Ryan (Angie), Nicole, Stephen, Adam, Jordan, Madelaine, Trevor, Allan & Kyle and great grandchildren Donovan, Aiden, Ava, Sarah and Sophie. Abe and his family would like to thank the staff at Valhaven for the good food and their exceptional care and love over the past 5 years. A special thank you to Dr. Carlson for his dedicated care over the years.
Viewing Sunday, March 22 3:30-4:30 pm and Memorial service on Monday, March 23 at 1pm at Olivet Mennonite Church, 3660 Langdon Ave, Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Communitas-Valhaven.
