A large fire destroyed a home at the corner of Marshall and Whatcom roads early Tuesday morning.

When crews arrived at the home just after 1 a.m., flames were shooting both from the back of the home and the roof.

The occupants of the home escaped uninjured, but the family’s cat was still missing as crews brought the blaze under control.

The cause is not yet known, but an investigator was en route.
