Abbotsford Police say a man in his 70s was targeted in a home-invasion robbery yesterday (Thursday) on Marshall Road.

Sgt. Judy Bird said that sometime between 4 and 5 p.m., two men armed with a metal bar broke into a residence in the 34000 block of Marshall Road.

The lone occupant of the home was bound while the residence was searched by the suspects.

The culprits stole the victim’s wallet and his blue 2013 Chevy Silverado truck, which was later recovered.

Bird said the victim was able to free himself and contact police after the thieves fled.

The man was treated by BC Ambulance Service for minor injuries.

“(He) was obviously shaken from the incident,” Bird said.

The Abbotsford Police Department’s major crime unit is continuing to investigate what they say is a “targeted incident.”

Bird said the victim was unable to supply descriptions of the suspects.
