Two Abbotsford men were sentenced last week, in separate cases, for child porn offences.
Christopher Jason Sieber, 46, received a 90-day intermittent jail term on May 18 in Abbotsford provincial court after previously pleading guilty to two offences – possession of child porn and accessing child porn.
An additional nine charges of distributing child porn were stayed.
Sieber was charged in November 2014 after a year-long investigation that resulted in Abbotsford Police executing a search warrant at his home and seizing several items, including computers and data storage devices.
His jail term will be followed by three years of probation.
Sentenced in Abbotsford provincial court the day after Sieber was Barry Granbois, 62, who was handed an 18-month jail term on three charges – accessing, possessing and making child porn available.
A search warrant was executed at Granbois’ home in July 2016, resulting in police seizing computers, memory sticks, hard drives, cameras and phones.
An examination of these items showed evidence of the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
Granbois’ jail term will be followed by two years of probation.
