UPDATE: Suspect in custody after targeted shooting downtown Chilliwack

No one injured in incident overnight Monday that saw a vehicle window shot out at home on Corbould

Police believe a shooting in a residential area near Chilliwack’s downtown core overnight Monday was targeted.

That’s according to RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail who said they do have a suspect in custody, but he could not release a name while Mounties continue to investigate.

People reported on social media there was a heavy police presence in the early hours of Oct. 3 at the house at the corner of Victoria Avenue and Corbould Street, and RCMP Forensics officers were still at the scene mid-morning Tuesday.

The investigators were examining the trajectory of a bullet through the front passenger window of a blue Volkswagen station wagon in the driveway of the home.
