There is a heavy police presence at Boundary and No. 2 Roads on the Chilliwack-Abbotsford border Wednesday evening as there are reports that workers in a blueberry field found a dead body.
An RCMP helicopter landed around 7 p.m. and No. 2 Road was blocked off as officers investigate.
A witness close to the scene told the Times a body was found by workers. She heard screaming and went out to see what was happening.
The witness said a day earlier she saw a man holding what she thought was a large white kite or some other object that he kept lifting and dropping to the ground. She thought it was "bizarre behaviour," which went on for more than four hours but the man was moving around in the blueberry field so she thought whatever he was doing, it was related to the farm.
Police said nothing about what was happening by 7 p.m. Wednesday.
More details as they become available.
