The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating a suspicious death in Abbotsford.

The Abbotsford Police Department reported this evening (Wednesday) that they were called at about 3:30 p.m. yesterday to the Aspen Court apartment complex at 2450 Center Street, just north of Peardonville Road.

Officers who arrived at the building located a man inside one of the suites, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

APD major crime detectives and officers with the forensic identification unit were called, and after the death was determined to be suspicious in nature, the matter was turned over to IHIT.

Investigators were still on the scene collecting evidence on Wednesday evening.

No further information has been provided by investigators at this time, including the age of the victim and any details related to the death.

“IHIT is in Abbotsford working closely with the APD on a suspicious death. There will be no updates until tomorrow at the earliest,” IHIT reported on its Twitter feed.

Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-4448 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
