UPDATE: IHIT says Abbotsford murder is targeted

Investigators called to Cameron Crescent early Wednesday morning

Investigators have confirmed that they believe the murder on Cameron Crescent in Abbotsford early Wednesday morning is targeted.

They have released few details about the crime, including the victim’s name or other details.

“Should these circumstances change, an updated media release with the male victim’s name will be provided,” said Cpl. Meghan Foster with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

She said IHIT is continuing to work closely with the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) to gather and review evidence.

The APD was called at 1:45 a.m. to a report of a “suspicious circumstance” at the residence in the 2300 block of Cameron Crescent in east Abbotsford. They did not elaborate on what that situation entailed.

Patrol division officers who arrived on the scene located a deceased man in the garage.

As of Wednesday afternoon, investigators were still on scene, and the area was marked off with yellow police tape. A blue tarp covers the garage door and evidence markers are in place around the garage and in the street.

No suspects have been identified or located at this time.
