The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is assisting the parents of a 41-year-old woman in obtaining information about her disappearance in Peru.

Kathleen and Alexander Kasatkin contacted the APD  on Dec. 5 to advise them that their daughter, Kimberlee Kasatkin, had gone missing from her home in Lima, Peru and is currently part of an investigation that includes Interpol.

APD Const. Ian MacDonald said the couple’s last contact with their daughter was on Nov. 26, 2016.

He said Kimberlee divides her time between a residence in Abbotsford and a home in Peru that she shares with her two children and common-law husband.

The family believes that Kimberlee has many friends in Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley who might have had recent contact with her or might know something that could assist the missing-person investigation.

Kathleen and Alexander will be leaving for Lima in the coming days to seek answers about their daughter’s disappearance.

They will also be present at a press conference this morning at the APD. Watch abbynews.com for more details later today.

Anyone with information about Kimberlee is asked to call the APD at 604-859-5225 or text abbypd (222973).
