The ongoing India farmers’ protests are set to ramp up locally this weekend with a pair of protests planned.

Saturday will see a Truck and Car Road Show protest meet up at Abbotsford’s Rotary Stadium at 11 a.m. and head to a gathering at the Vancouver Art Gallery later that day.

The Abbotsford Kisaan Tractor Rally event then occurs on Sunday.

Participants are meeting at 10 a.m. at Maan Farms in Abbotsford. It’s believed that a large group of tractors will make a loop of the area surrounding Maan Farms.

Full details of the tractor rally have yet to be released. Tractor rally organizers state that all participants must remain on their tractors and follow the pilot or lead tractor. All tractors must be insured and masks and social distancing guidelines must be followed.

Local protests have been ongoing since Dec. 1, with Abbotsford residents often gathering on South Fraser Way and Clearbrook Road.
