A male motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after a crash on Tuesday night in Abbotsford.

The collision took place at about 5:30 p.m. in the area of Montrose Avenue and South Fraser Way.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said that at the time of the crash, the 47-year-old motorcyclist, riding a Harley-Davidson, was travelling south on Montrose.

A 53-year-old man driving an Escalade was heading north on Montrose and apparently attempted to make a left turn, crossing in front of the motorcycle.

The investigation is continuing, and MacDonald said police are looking at ticketing the Escalade driver for failing to yield and driving without due care and attention.
