Motorcycle crash near Chilliwack leaves Alberta man dead

Investigation is underway into a fatal motorcycle crash near Chilliwack reported in the early hours of Friday morning (Aug. 13).

RCMP are seeking witnesses who may have seen the incident, or dash-cams that may have recorded it, on Highway 1 near Yale Road in Chilliwack.

Chilliwack RCMP officers were called to the scene at around 3 a.m.

BC Ambulance personnel had come upon the crashed motorcycle in the eastbound lane of the highway, and found the deceased man, 67, from Alberta, believed to the operator of the motorcycle.

Chilliwack RCMP supported by the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) continue their investigation into the crash while BC Coroners Service investigate the cause of death.

“RCMP urge anyone who witnessed the crash or have dash camera footage to contact police at 604-792-4611 or, should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).”
