An Abbotsford man and woman have been sentenced on a total of 12 drug and weapons charges from 2016.
Corey Perkins, 31, who was previously convicted of seven charges in this case, received another two years in prison on top of the 12 years he had been sentenced to in June on a separate matter.
The seven charges were four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of drug trafficking and one count of possession of a prohibited firearm (a Glock handgun).
Co-accused Caitlin Bransford, 31, was sentenced to two years and 10 months in jail on a total of five charges – four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a prohibited firearm.
The two were sentenced Sept. 18 in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster.

Investigators seized numerous guns, $60,000 in cash, and large quantities of drugs, including more than 1,000 pills containing fentanyl, an opiate considered 100 times more potent than heroin and which has been connected to numerous drug overdoses and deaths in B.C.

The firearms seized by police included prohibited and restricted weapons, semi-automatic pistols and rifles, revolvers, a sub-machine gun and a sawed-off shotgun, as well as magazines, silencers and ammunition.
Police at the time said the seizure and Perkins’ arrest disrupted a major drug line in the city.
They began their investigation into Perkins starting in June 2014.
Following his arrest, Perkins was also charged separately from Bransford with another 39 charges – later whittled down to two drug charges (cocaine and fentanyl) and eight weapons charges – from Dec. 15, 2014 in Abbotsford.
In June of this year, Perkins received a 12-year sentence on those 10 charges. After credit for time already served, he had another eight years and 10 months of jail time left at the time of sentencing.
Both cases went to trial, and Perkins issued legal challenges to have some of the evidence tossed out, but the judge ruled against most of them.
At one time, Perkins faced at total of 66 charges in the two cases, but those were reduced over time.
