One of three men charged in connection with a stabbing last August near the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre (AESC) has had three more offences added to his file.

Bhavdeep Deol, 22, has been charged with obstructing a police officer, “personation” with intent to avoid arrest and breach of his bail conditions.

Const. Ian MacDonald said the charges stem from police pulling over Deol’s vehicle in the 2000 block of Sumas Way on July 19.

Deol allegedly did not produce his driver’s licence and identified himself as someone else. He was given an immediate roadside prohibition for suspected impaired driving.

The breach charge resulted from allegedly breaking a condition of his parole that he not consume alcohol.

Deol is one of three men charged with aggravated assault in which a 24-year-old man was stabbed on Aug. 22, 2010 on the roadway between Finnegan’s Pub and the AESC in the 33700 block of King Road.

The victim was attacked and then stabbed in his arm, chest and abdomen. He required emergency surgery.

Gurparit Gill, 32, pleaded guilty in the case in May and received a four-year sentence. Deol and co-accused Herman Sidhu, 21, next appear in court Aug. 8 for a trial confirmation hearing.
