A 28-year-old man was seriously injured after exiting the SUV he was in while the vehicle was moving Thursday afternoon.
The man was reportedly a passenger when he either jumped or fell out of the vehicle while it was being driven on Haida Drive, shortly after noon, according to Const. Ian MacDonald.
He reportedly suffered head injuries and was taken to Abbotsford Regional Hospital, then airlifted to another Vancouver-area trauma centre.
Collision reconstruction investigators closed down Haida Drive between Nicola Street and Gladwin Road for more than an hour, but the road was re-opened by 2:30 p.m.
