Hundreds lose power following downed power pole

BC Hydro workers begin the task of removing a downed power line pole on Tuesday morning.

A pick-up truck colliding with a power line pole has left hundreds without power in west Abbotsford on Tuesday morning.

BC Hydro crews responded to a downed power line pole at 8:30 a.m. on Huntingdon Road south of the Abbotsford International Airport.

The power line pole was damaged and must be removed by BC Hydro crews.

The power outage began at 8:15 a.m., and power is expected to return for the 592 customers affected by 3 p.m. A black pick-up truck was towed from the scene at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Huntingdon Road near Townline Road will have alternating one-way traffic until crews have completed their work.
